Ahead With Horses
AHEAD (Accelerated Habilitation Education and Development) WITH HORSES INC. Has a 36-year history of providing unique, highly motivating and effective developmental therapy, education and recreation through horses and the environment to disabled/disadvantaged/special needs children, with the goal of maximizing their potential and ensuring measurable improvement physically, mentally, socially and/or emotionally resulting in the ability to lead better and more independent and productive lives. AWH specializes in children with severe and multiple disabilities (including autism). Through vaulting (gymnastics on a moving horse)ALL children can LEARN and ACHIEVE and find SUCCESS! Two unique aspects of this therapy are the immediacy of response and the visibility of its effectiveness.
AWH serves 200+ children each week through on-going therapy, field trips and special events and activities at its facility in Sun Valley and mobile program sites at the LA Equestrian Center in Griffith Park and Will Rogers State Park, Pacific Palisades.
