Salvin Special Education Center

Salvin Special Education Center serves over 300 severely disabled children. The special needs of our children include cerebral palsy, mental retardation, seizure disorders, autism, and genetic disorders. Many of these disabilities result in limited ability to walk and move independently. SHARE targeted this area of need and provided Salvin with mobility equipment to help our students take their first steps, which might have not been promising without their support.

Due to SHARE's remarkable support, Salvin's students and families have benefited to the highest degree. The families of Salvin are at or below the poverty level, which increases the challenge of educating their special needs children.
SHARE's generous assistance in 2004 has enabled us to establish the SHARE Media Center and Library and establish the SHARE Parent Room. Our parents have a new place to meet, a new kitchen with laundry facilities, and a computer on which they can do research regarding their child's care. In addition, we stock the family pantry with emergency food and clothing, which is always extensive due to SHARE's giving.

The extremely generous support of SHARE has had a tremendous impact on Salvin School. Our families and students also thank them for their continuous commitment to Salvin.
