Los Angeles, CA – April, 2008 - On March 26th, more than 65 SHARE ladies, representatives of the facilities SHARE supports and invited guests will gather at the Hillcrest Country Club for their Annual SHARE Funding Reception. The Reception culminates a year of fundraising activities and hard work. “This evening is one of our favorites. It’s so rewarding to be able to fund these wonderful facilities,” explains SHARE President Dolores Nemiro.
The money will be distributed in individual grants to 13 facilities which are The Dreammaker’s Project, The Center For The Partially Sighted, Team Prime Time, Kayne Eras Center, Exceptional Children's Foundation, Salvin Special Education Center, Stuart House, Ahead With Horses, SHARE's Child Disability Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, I Have A Dream Foundation, Bethune Theatredance, Friends of CASA and Infinite Dreams.
SHARE, INC. was founded in 1953 and has raised over $44 million to help “at risk” youth, the developmentally disabled and the abused and to support research, prevention and vocational training and independent living skills programs for children in need.
On April 5th, SHARE sponsors the Friends of CASA “Glamour Gown” event at the L.A. Convention Center. This is a hands-on project where the SHARE Ladies will be helping young women in foster care choose their dresses and accessories for their prom night.
And the 55th Annual SHARE Boomtown fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 31st. The western themed, star-studded show honors AMERICAN IDOL Producer Nigel Lythgoe and will include headliner talent and many surprise guests. The Boomtown party includes a cocktail reception, a live and silent auction, dinner and a fabulous show at The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Gary Smith is producing the event which will include singing and dancing performances by the fabulous SHARE Ladies.
